I put one of my blog posts into the above tool and found out:
Code: Select all
LIWC dimension Me - Personal Texts - Formal Texts
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Self-references (I, me, my) 1.15 11.4 4.2
Social words 2.31 9.5 8.0
Positive emotions 1.44 2.7 2.6
Negative emotions 3.17 2.6 1.6
Overall cognitive words 4.90 7.8 5.4
Articles (a, an, the) 6.34 5.0 7.2
Big words (> 6 letters) 18.16 13.1 19.6
Because the tp lexicon is so small, it seems like a similar sentiment metric could be written for toki pona after the words have been divided up among the above categories. Here is a complete list of categoriesthat the linked tool uses.
Also, as a point of design, this would indicated to be useful, a diary language would need *both* positive and negative words, so maybe apeja, pake, monsuta, ike have roles in a language for detecting good and bad moods so that something could be done about them.
