Translation below.

Last week I put my boat on top of my car.
I drove to another state.
I went to my friend's house.
He lives next to a lake.
I put my boat into the lake.
I raise the sail on my boat.
I use the wind to move my boat.
I sailed my boat on the lake for a long time.
The wind was strong. My boat moved quickly.
Water splashed inside my boat.
My clothes got wet.
The water is cold.
I like sailing my boat.
I ate dinner with my friend.
I put my boat on top of my car.
I drove home.

wawa is cannonical for "fast", so
kon li wawa. tomo tawa telo mi li tawa wawa. The wind is powerful, my boat goes fast.

tawa mute- "goes often" is my first read

if the boat goes far, then we don't have a good word for it

tomo tawa telo mi li tawa suli palisa suli. A large linear magnitude.

telo li lon insa (pi) tomo tawa telo mi.

mi moku e moku poka jan pona mi.
mi lon sewi tomo tawa mi e tomo tawa telo mi.

Just how 'poka' works in verb position is not yet determined; the real prepositions (P) take the complement, but 'kepeken', a borrowed prep does not, And there may be a difference between "near" and "with"
And we haven't got a clear reading on whether the complex prepositions, like 'lon insa' take 'pi' or not (not is sure to win).

As jan nasa I firmly believe:

lon sewi acts as if it were a single word and doesn't require pi after it regardless to how many words follow. Why? Because certain breaks are obvious and don't need a particle, as opposed to certain breaks which are not obvious and are missing a particle (I'm thinking of stuff that follows the verb but precedes the e)

lon poka means physically next to
poka means in conjunction with, collaborating with, or any other sense of with other than "physically next to"

If poka is being used like "li lon PLACE e THING", then I would say it needs lon, which makes it a "li lon" construction. If it doesn't, then it must be some sort of causative

? mi poka soweli e waso. I made the bird collaborate along with the animal. Not esp useful.
? mi poka soweli tawa e tomo tawa. I made the horse work with the wagon.
? mi poka tomo tawa e soweli tawa. I made the horse work with the wagon. Sounds better than the above.
? mi kepeken ilo e jan lili. I made the child use the tool.
? mi sama jan suli e jan lili. I made the child into an adult.
? mi sewi lawa mi e jan lili. I raised the child above my head.

I agree about the compound prepositions as prepositions, but what they do as verbs (or modifiers, for that matter) is still up in the air a bit.
? mi poka soweli e waso. I made the bird collaborate along with the animal. Not esp useful.
Or just be with or be near -- maybe in the same cage, say. But not very useful, agreed
? mi poka soweli tawa e tomo tawa. I made the horse work with the wagon.
Just "I put the cart near/next to the horse" no work implied
? mi poka tomo tawa e soweli tawa. I made the horse work with the wagon. Sounds better than the above.
Ditto, now moving the horse, however.
? mi kepeken ilo e jan lili. I made the child use the tool.
No, 'kepeken' definitely does not take a NP complement in verb position -- it is a verb already, after all. "I used the child as a tool" is about the best we can hope for for this one.
? mi sama jan suli e jan lili. I made the child into an adult.
" made him like an adult" anyhow, not actually an adult, of course (mi suli e jan lili)
? mi sewi lawa mi e jan lili. I raised the child above my head.
I think this one needs 'lon', 'sewi' by itself is just a noun, not a preposition (yet, anyhow). Or maybe 'tawa sewi pi lawa mi' 'pi' definitely required.
