Does it works for animals?
mi olin e soweli lili mi (?)
in fact it works even with other objects, but could be considered as a sort of pervert

I'm using X li olin e Y for animate-animate and X li pona tawa Y animate-inanimate.

Last time I thought about this I thought I'd discovered noun classes in toki pona (similar to gender, or the way that some languages split up the pronouns by animate-inanimate, etc), but it doesn't quite fit. Pinker's term "micro-class" seems to work better because pinker uses it for groups of semanticly related words that trigger certain constructions or prohibit others.

OK, I understand : the syntax of my sentence was correct but not the using of "olin"

I should say "person" whenever I talk about 'olin', Anything that is, in the context,a person can be said to love and be loved -- in that context, but maybe not outside it.

The content of the word list is totally in the hands of Sonja, the creator. She has released a revised list of words but some of them are only vaguely explained or not at all yet. We make do for now and speculate about what will happen later,
'tomo' is any structure; a city is something like 'ma tomo' or 'tomo mute'. You don't (nor want) quotes around the city name, even if you leave it unchanged (to 'Lesiton', say) 'mi mute' as subject requires 'li'; it is only 'mi' alone (and 'sina' alone) that allow the dropping). The language used in talking is referred to using 'kepeken', not the direct object marker 'e' (DO of 'toki' is what is said eitheer generally or specifically). So, revised :
I'm not sure whether you mean a building or a city and whether you want "thing language-building" or "building of this language."

taso.

mi pini tawa tomo mi tan kulupu toki Lasina. telo lili li lon kon li ma tomo Lesiton. tenpo ni la mi lon telo suli. mi e mije sama pali lon ma ni.

mi wile kama e sona e toki Epalanto. tempo tomo sona kama la mi jo jan pona. mi pini jo e olin lili tawa ona. mi jo ala. ona li jo e jan pona li toki e toki Epelanto. tempo kama lili la mi wile lukin e ona kepeken tomo tawa kon. mi wile lukin e jan pona mi e jan pona ona.
