toki pona translations for a novel!

Postby LetsGameDev » Mon Jan 15, 2018 12:21 pm

Hi,

my name is Tom and I am working on a book.

I am from germany and I want to use toki pona for the language, the aliens in my book are talking.

I think toki pona is just perfekt for that, cause it is a real language. But its also so exotic to almose every one in the first place.

I saw toki pona half a year ago and begann to lean it. But for the book I dont want to make misstakes. It should be correct toki pona.

Long story short: I am looking for help to get the Alien dialog stuff translated :)

So I have to translate the german text into english and then I want you and ME to translate it into toki pona. This way, I think I can learn a lot about the language itself instead of just asking for translation :)

So, is some one interestet in this?

Well, I’m an editor, so I correct and comment on what is offered, but am not much good at doing original work -- even translations. But feed me attempts and aI will correct an explain as much as you can stand (and then a bit). I have a delusion, left over from a successful couple of years of German in college 60 years ago, that I still understand German, so I will try to consider your originals along with your English translations.

Hey janKipo!
That sounds like a good match :)

Right now I am revisit my writings, so some sentences are changing in this process. So just give me one or two weeks to prepare everything. Also I will use the time to refresh my toki pona learnings.

So this thread will hear from me in a few weeks!

Hallo Tom,

du brauchst die Texte nicht erst in die englische Sprache zu übersetzen. Ich bin auch aus Deutschland (Berlin). Ich habe auch als Autor gearbeitet. Das heißt, wir können die Texte zusammen übersetzen.

Hier sind übrigens Toki Pona Lektionen in deutscher Sprache:
