A little while ago I wanted to go to an expensive restaurant with my friend. But my friend's boss wanted this: [that] my friend go to a different city for a work conference. Therefore my friend could not go with me. Alas! [Before the action of the previous sentence, already in the past] I gave money for tickets of the restaurant (i.e., reservations) and cannot remove the ticket (i.e., cancel). My friend did this: The cousin/relative of my friend went with me. Alas! I felt bad because of this: the restaurant has a ballroom, but nobody can dance because of this: everywhere there are chairs and tables. We two ate well and felt good. All is good.

jan mama mama: jan mama:: jan sama sama: jan sama

It even has the nursery rhyme jingle so beloved of TP poetry.
o lukin! jan mije li tawa tan mije mama en meli mama li kama jo e meli olin. jan mije en meli olin li ante e sijelo sama.

A short while ago, I wanted to go to the bank along side my friend.

But it's work's leader wanted this- my friend goes to a different building in the company.

Because of this, (my) friend is not able to go along side me. Shoot! Previously I gave money to the sheets of the restaurant and I wasn't able to get rid of the sheets. (Huh?)

(My) friend did this- the same person went along with me. Shoot! I felt bad because of this- I can't dance. (Huh?)

We two ate well and felt good about it. Everything is fine.
