toki pona biology-- we're really in the world of community proposals here. Some things are established-- if it flies, it's waso (bats, birds), if its in the water it's kala (fish and whales)

Somethings are unclear and allow for editorializing-- soweli jan / jan soweli which one is Neaderthal, which is Ardipithines, which is Homo Heidelberginsis?

Species naming isn't nailed down yet... kasi Soja vs kasi wawa pi kiwen lili -- proper modifiers vs mostly opaque compound phrases

If I had to refer to a group of mixed living things, it would be "kulupu" or "soweli" We don't have a good, widely used way of saying "living" or "to live". Somehow it sounds macabre to take the kids to tomo musi pi ijo moli ala.
