The toki pona classic word list: http://tokipona.net/tp/classicwordlist.aspx included a character/Japanese hiragana for each word. I noticed that there are a couple of mistakes, as well as a few characters which I think would have made more sense.
I mostly tried to stick with more historical and general characters which are not just used in Mandarin grammar, but are found across other dialects and in Japanese. I also had the idea to use the character for dragon as akesi.
If toki is 言 and pona is 好, toki pona would be 言好，this would mean the Chinese and Japanese terms for the toki pona language could be 言好语／言好語. Since Vietnamese and Korean were historically written in Han characters this would mean that Toki Pona could translate as ngôn háo in Vietnamese and 언호어 in Korean, I dont speak Korean or Viet so correct me if I am wrong.
Here are my suggestions. Please tell me any of your ideas, or ways you think of to improve this.
