Greek Letters

Post by janMato »

I'm on a programming spree. I'm writing a bunch of things on my site http://tokipona.net/ including a spelling program that will use 2 or 3 systems to spell--the official, military spelling, and one based on English.

jan Sonja spelling essentially is taking the letters a-z and assigning a tokiponafied Greek name to them.

At the moment there are blanks, my Greek isn't really good enough to fill in the blanks. Any suggestions/improvements?

a sitelen Alepa (official)
b sitelen Peta (official)
c * sitelen Kapa sike (Round Kappa)
d * sitelen Teta (Delta)
e * sitelen Eta
f * sitelen Pe (Phi)
g sitelen Kama (official)
h * sitelen Eta (Heta... uh, oh ...clashes)
i sitelen Jota (official)

l sitelen Lameta (official)
m * sitelen Mu
n * sitelen Nu
o * sitelen Omikon (omicron)
p sitelen Pi (official)
q * sitelen Kopa

Thanks!

I implemented my speller: http://tokipona.net/tp/SpellWords.aspx

I swapped your suggestions for w and v, Tikama does make more sense for w.

I guess next I have enough infomation now to write a latin to greek to cyrillic re-encoder.

Speaking of projects, when will you finish your dictionary?-- only about 90 to go. I was working on a consolidate word list that will eventually consolidate the definitions from classic word list (English and EO), the current wiki word list moving target that it is, and the jan Kipo definitions.

Here are my results so far:
