Can inanimate tools/machines 'see' things in toki pona? Or do the doctors see things using a medical tool?

Since toki pona is a strict subject-verb-object (nominative/accusative) language, everything has to be forced into that pattern. English also happens to be a nominative-accusative language, so it also puts things into subject that aren't exactly doing an action and things into the direct object aren't exactly receiving an action. (I got this idea from reading Morphosyntax, Paine) So one mark in favor of "machines seeing things" Also, the role of prepositional phrases is to move those things off center stage (less topical) and anything moved into subject and object are more topical. So if the story is about the awesome machinery, then pick a construction where the machinery is subject or object, not off to the side in a prepositional phrase. (I also got this idea from reading Morphosyntax, Paine)

jan Kipo on the other hand, (If I read him correctly) usually encourages people to make the subject and object match up with their semantic role, so the actor is the subject, the recipient of the action is the direct object and instruments are in a kepeken phrase.

Good writing, I understood most of it the first time. I thought it odd that someone was being put in a machine instead of being poked with a medical device, but it makes sense now.
