Looks like we may be getting another new word: apeja - to single out, expose, disgrace, dishonorhttp://en.tokipona.org/wiki/Talk:apeja
I'm going to have to start making some new flash cards again.
sin la mi wile sitelen e lipu tawa. a, a, a.

Interesting, another negative word.
jan utala li tawa tan utala li weka jan pona ona. jan li apeja e kulupu ona.
jan utala li tawa tan utala li weka jan pona ona. jan li pali ike sama ni.
The reverse doesn't automatically seem like "to honor"
mi apeja ala e mama mute mi. I didn't dishonor my parents. (not I honor my parents)

Perhaps the problem here is that "disgrace" is a negative term generating from the attitude of others, and as such does not fit the self-generating moral compass more typical of TP? Which makes TP sound a bit Nietzschean, oddly enough. How have the concepts of "honor" and "disgrace" been used in previous TP translations? Is there a 'Ten Commandments' somewhere? A pre-apeja translation of 'o apeja ala e mama mije sina en mama meli sina''?
