Is a pini a kasi?
Is a mushroom a kasi?

n fruit, pulpy vegetable, mushroom

No, kili are the reproductive aspect of kasi: fruit, pine cones, all sorts of things that bear seeds . Actually, I'm not sure about pine cones, since they are not soft and squashy.

Ah! That makes sense. Mushrooms though reproduce via spores dispersed from the gills. I guess this is a semantic edge case without a good solution.

Spores, seeds, whatever, they are the fruiting bodies, they carry the intermediate stage in the reproductive process (between fertilization -- maybe not in mushroom -- and planting).
