Yet I think somebody made a stab at it a while ago. Other shots would bewelcome, even though the notions involved are mainly not appropriate for mapona. The word used then for 'rights' was, I think, 'nasin lawa,' which worksin certain contexts certainly. But rights in this sense are mainly prohibitionson others, so something like 'ken ala' might be involved or 'wile' in somecomplex.________________________________From: jan_sewe <serge.g@laposte.net>To: tokipona@yahoogroups.comSent: Wednesday, May 6, 2009 4:44:33 AMSubject: [tokipona] Re: UDHR Translation Attempt--- In tokipona@yahoogroup s.com, Liogab11 <liogab11@.. .> wrote:>> to do this, I need to know if anyone has suggestions for saying "right" as inhuman rights (homaj rajtoj) in TP.>I'd be very surprised if TP turned out to be suitable for translating theUniversal Declaration of Human Rights.I much prefer the Esperanto version:Cxiuj homoj estas denaske liberaj kaj egalaj laù digno kaj rajtoj.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
