ma kili lili mi

Postby jan sewi kasi » Wed Mar 30, 2016 2:28 pm

Mi pali lon ma kili lili mi. Ni li pona tawa mi. Mi pali mute ala tan mi kepeken lili e ilo. Mi pakala ala e supa. Taso mi pana e kili lili sin lon sewi supa. Tenpo ali la kasi moli li lon sewi supa. Ni li pona tawa pona ma kili lili en kili ali en moku mi.

A bit of practice for me. Learnt basic vocab, grammar needs some work. Corrections more than welcome.

no relative clauses in tp; you have to use two sentences generally (work-arounds are a lot later in the course) so'mi pali mute tan ni: mi kepeken lili e ilo' (no 'e' with 'kepeken')
I know it's a bed in English, but 'ma' is probably better for soil here.
'pana' is a verb of motion, so probably 'pana e kili lili sin tawa sewi supa' for scattering or 'lon insa pi ...' for digging in.
Again, several sentences help; ni li pona tawa ni: ona li pona e ma pi kili lili e kili ali e moku mi' (one possible interpretation; there are several others.

tp sentence do not begin with a capital letter (only names get capitalized)

Tenpo suno ni la talo sewi li kama anpa. ni li pona tawa ma kili lili mi. ali li laso mute.

Pona, jan Kipo.

I wasn't thinking "bed", just "horizontal surface", which was for ground. At the end I changed it to ma.
Think I need to learn more about "lon". lon insa pi... = location inside of/ under?
Yes, I knew abut the capital etters, but my tablet automatically does capital letters after full stops, and I was feeling lazy. I'll strive not to. :)

I'm painfully familiar with autocaps; I just noted the problem in case it was deliberate. The rest looks good.

prob 'tawa mi kin' since you are the new information, not "news" ('kin' does mean "too" but attaches to the new component, not the matrix -- English sloppy usage notwithstanding).
'ona li pali e lupa' tp doesn't (so far) allow dropping even the most obvious subjects.

What is 'sewi supa' meant to be? I could be wrong but I don't think I've ever seen 'taso' used at the beginning of a sentence. Maybe something like 'mi pana e kili lili sin taso lon sewi supa' or '...lon sewi supa taso'. It's hard to know without it being clear what you were trying to say. As jan Kipo said only names (non-toki pona words) are capitalized. Bed (not flower bed) is usually supa lape.
