Sample Chatroom Guidelines in toki pona

Post by janMato »

If I was going to host a chat room, I would post guidelines, something like this. Any corrections or additions?

Edit: And I followed through...I've set up a meetup and a Skype chat. The relevant pages describe the details.

Thanks, we need this (and the room to use it in).
'kepeken e nimi 'jan' lon sinpin nimi jan'
Otherwise nothing jumped out at me.

Don't cuss, in any language-- particularly the personal insults
That's a really good rule...for any website.

Coming back to this revised version with fresh eyes:

Note the need for quotes to make sense of the rule: you don't need to put a person before the name of a person, just the word 'jan'. Similarly, your name is not a person, so either 'nimi mi li nimi 'Kipo' or 'mi jan Kipo.
"Talk to you later" is either just a promise: 'tenpo kama la mi tu li toki' or a wish 'tenpo kama o mi tu li toki' I am not sure what the heck 'mi mute o toki' is "O Us, talk"
Not sure how to put the numbers into the age formula; just draping them at the end doesn't work but we have not preposition for it (unless 'nanpa' is one). The best (for now) is probably in front with 'la': 'tenpo seme la sina sike e suno?' But this look a little Englishy (I'm actually liking 'nanpa' as a preposition for this sort of thing).
Otherwise, pretty useful.
