It was a good joke. シ

Make a knot on this if you can:

jan sona li toki tawa Buddha: "sian li toki ale kepeken nimi kepeken nimi ala?"
Buddha li toki ala
jan sona li toki tawa Buddha: "mi tawa pona, ilo mi li nimi sina"
Ananda li toki tawa buddha: "seme jan sona li jo"
Buddha li toki: " soweli li lukin e pimeja pi ilo pakala lili, soweli li tawa. "

I hate to step on a good old joke, but ...

jan sona li toki tawa Buddha: "siNA [li] toki E ale kepeken nimi ANU kepeken nimi ala?"
Buddha li toki ala
jan sona li toki tawa Buddha: "mi tawa pona[,]. ilo mi li nimi sina"
Ananda li toki tawa buddha: "[seme] jan sona SEME li jo" but I think you mean 'jan sona li jo e seme'
Buddha li toki: " soweli li lukin e pimeja pi ilo pakala lili, soweli li tawa. "
apparently LA in place of ,

Thanks!
Here is an other one (I try to pay more attention)

jan sona li toki tawa Joshu: "Buddha li sama insa pi soweli?"
Joshu li toki: "mu."

in a "was he like?" question do I have to ask both possible answer or is it intelligible if I mention only on?
Buddha li sama insa pi soweli, li sama ala insa pi soweli? vs Buddha li sama insa pi soweli?

---Edit---
I just searched for Buddha on the forums, and I see you already made the same joke back in 2009.

To latest question, yes.
Standard yes/no question is X ala X, so here 'jan Puta li sama ala sama insa soweli ('pi' needs two words after it).
Joke works here since 'mu' is just like (one) meaning of 'mu' in Chinese, though not like another -- so maybe the joke doesn't quite work.

Well, one of the other meanings of 'mu' was "No".

Or followed it with 'a a a!', if you wanted to remain in tp.
