"lon" for knowledge is contrintuitive for me (IMHO).
I think, the difference in language background made this difference in perception (and not so close Russian translation of X-Files slogan, indeed). I've heard of such things, but never expirienced it myself...

'lon' for "truth", 'sona' is "knowledge"

Isn't the "truth" the kind of "knowledge"? The knowledge, which is true for sure?

While there cannot be certain knowledge which isn't true, there are surely truths that are unkown.

The best explanation ever.

Let's say: in my humble opinion, the X-Files slogan rethinked in tp, me, probably should prefer 'sona', because actually they hunting for some kind of knowledge, want to know about something. And they always stop near that knowledge (so, 'poka', not 'weka') The 'lon' sounds too metaphysical for me.

A 'beautiful blurrines' of many slogans just impossible in tp. And it's good!

As opposed 'telo Pepusi li kama e tenpo musi tawa Lon'. (as far as I remember it).
"out there" always remote to me. And they never do get to it. But I am not overjoyed with 'Lon' for "truth" either.
