mi toki ala lon toki pona. mi toki pona.

toki! So, I came up with a new way to say "I speak language x". (By new, I mean I first thought of the idea, then realised that I once saw the same thing happen in Esperanto in "Mi parolas Esperant e .") It may have horrible implications or it may work really well, but oh well, I...

Re: Nest

Maybe saying "mi pali e tomo kepeken len supa" could add an element of coziness if people figure out blankets are meant before reading onwards. Then again, it's also probably too bulky a sentence for the comic.

Re: nasin mi

I would've looked at "mi ijo e ala" as "I give form to the void", which may even be similar to "I create" or "I shape". Looking through the context of where it was, maybe "I objectify nothing"? Maybe something similar was running through your head? I...

Re: pakala suli

This is gorgeous! From what I take of it, fire is "consuming" all the air's oxygen, and so the sky dissipates/is not longer there. It feels a lot more poetic though. :) Toki Pona is better sometimes for things like these - I guess all languages have their quirks!

Translating "pona" and "ike" in the context of modifying verbs and its philosophical insight

I would like very much to lead you all away from the deemed "spirit" of Toki Pona for a brief moment, and to reflect on the usage of "pona" and "ike" in multiple contexts. It appears that, in literature and conversation, when modifying verbs in terms of "pona"...

Re: nasin lili (short forms)

Haha, I've been doing this in my head sometimes when thinking about tp poetry :) Some other examples: j' = jan __, e.g. j'ante for jan ante, j'ona for jan pona. Skipping out on the last vowel (and/or first consonant) of the first word (or last) of a compound adjective/word, e.g. las'jelo for laso je...
