Re: I'm updating my Toki Pona lessons and I'm looking for good text examples

In other languages commas have different functions as in Toki Pona. jan Lope o, Thanks for your explanation. This way of using a comma is very weird to me. We could use any other seperator, like a dash: "mi pana e tomo - tawa sina." (I give the house to you.) "mi pana e tomo tawa sin...

Re: I'm updating my Toki Pona lessons and I'm looking for good text examples

Update: Commas before prepositions o jan Lope, interesting. Buth why is a comma recommended? In the sentence "mi moku, kepeken ilo moku" it seems you're putting two sentences together "mi moku" and "mi kepeken ilo moku." If this is your intention, you could simply say ...

Re: nasin toki pi toki pona

Saluton, mi ĝisdatigis la gramatikon. Mi koncentriĝis pri la deveno kaj devenigebleco uzante "mankigeblajn substantivojn". Tio signifas, ke multaj vortoj en Tokipono havas eblan aldonan signifon "ijo", "ilo" kaj "jan" kiam ili estas uzataj kiel substantivoj. (...

Re: nasin toki pi toki pona

But a preposition isn't an adjective; the very name "pre-position" makes it seem more like a "nimi sinpin" to me! "tan ma ante"; "ma" is the main word, "tan" is before it (nimi sinpin), "ante" is the modifier after it (nimi monsi). So unle...

Re: nasin toki pi toki pona

Ha, I believe there is a typo here; you have both transitive verbs and prepositions being called "nimi monsi wawa". Might want to correct that. And neither of those seem very "monsi" to me... Thank you. I corrected that. nimi suli - verb nimi suli wawa - transitive verb nimi mon...

nimi monsi - adjective/adverb
nimi insa - preposition
Update: I added transitive verbs ("nimi suli wawa") and changed the name of prepositions, i.e. from "nimi insa" to "nimi monsi wawa".

Bye!

Re: nasin toki pi toki pona

o jan pi toki pona, I rewrote my Toki Pona grammar written in Toki Pona (and Esperanto). Comments are welcome. The main goal was to create a set of terms in Toki Pona itself in order to describe the language: nimi kalama - onomatopoeia nimi ilo - particle nimi ijo - content word / root word nimi sul...

Re: nasin toki pi toki pona

Here is an interesting link: http://linguistics.stackexchange.com/questions/3252/what-is-recursion A impossibility of changing the order of phrases are not a proof of recursion. "lukin e sitelen li pona tawa mi." is wrong because Toki Pona sentences have to have the order noun phrase, ver...

Re: nasin toki pi toki pona

You are right "la" differs because of "A la B" = "If A then B". But is this condition a recursion? I thought about it again. I think Toki Pona has a recursion. In a la phrase could be a whole nested sentences (If A la B.). In contrast to the other separators you can't ...
