Re: Use of "la" vs. putting adj./adv. after verb?

From reading your list, which was and is an extremely useful resource, that I was very glad to find :) I came to the conclusion that as far as I had the mental powers to work out, the uses were consistent with pu. For instance; ike la -- this is just setting up the context of "bad", so the...

Re: kulupu nimi tu pi nasin pona

Oh that is strange, I had pretty well convinced myself it was to do with precision and or general utility.

Can you tell me how you know it is not ?

Re: Use of "la" vs. putting adj./adv. after verb?

Im not sure many people would agree with your strange interpretation of "la"

In pu you can use "la" to raise a topic like this : "topic" tawa mi la B ; this means "topic" in my perspective, B ; Where B is a statement about said topic, in your perspective.

Re: kulupu nimi tu pi nasin pona

Well "more precise" not completely so... I think Sonja wrote the meanings of words in a specific order, ie that which comes first is most likely, or if you have required precision communicated, then you should go through the order in the order they are presented and take the first one that...

Re: sewi li lon anu seme ?

If you want to claim God as the omni3 entity cannot be instantiated, then you can ofcourse. However as far as I am aware no one has been able to sufficiently support such a claim, so claims of contradiction of omni3 properties are not taken seriously anywhere but meme type youtube posts :P Of course...

Re: word order

Welcome :) The order is complex, but generally its just the reverse of how it is done in english ; pretty little girls school ->school girls little pretty. lipu ni li sina -- this book is you. lipu ni li lipu sina -- this book is your book. ni li lipu pona -- this is a good book. As a start its easi...

Re: Who of us is really a toki pona master?

[edited in after realising above response was maybe inappropriately aimed at pu and not more appropriately kipos own poor definitions, which I first assumed the response was referring to] Obviously the power, usability and extendibility of pus definitions are far superior than what your semantic blo...

Re: Use of "la" vs. putting adj./adv. after verb?

tenpo la -- literally just sets up a context of time for what follows; maybe you are going to make a statement about time itself. ken - has to do with possibility, ken la -- sets up a set of the possible, which include times, the thing with time in tp is most all statements can be pertaining to past...

Re: kulupu nimi tu pi nasin pona

But, the official dialect allows us to be more precise given the context of precision. Sonja was very clever in writing the dictionary ;) I suppose laying out that you want precision quickly might be tricky, but your discovery of ni as verb would probably come in handy there :) sitelen ni li ni e ij...

Re: Who of us is really a toki pona master?

Well yeah, clearly your substitute definitions and obfuscations promulgate a broken system of word meanings for toki pona.

The official dialect on the other hand has well defined multi-meaning specific uses for the words of its language.
