Re: kulupu nimi "sona 'Piloloki'" li pona ala pona?

Well, one Daoist tradition would have the uncarved block (of stone) as the ideal, in some sense, but I don't think it means that it is alive: it just has all its potentials still available, not yet having been (mis)shaped in some way. To be sure, varieties of Daoism (but probably not the tp kind) do...

Re: A ranged possibility: two-letter codes

Well, the basic sriticism is that we don't need it and using it just puts another roadblock in the way of learning tp. That is the same problem with hieroglyphs, kana, ideograms, etc. etc. The Latin alphabet, for all its faults is familiar, easy to use and doesn't misrepresent tp hardly at all. wel...

Re: toki musi mi

Well, I'm not sure that 'lon' implies stasis, and certainly as a transitive verb it implies a change and the causal agency of the man in the change. and I would have thought that what was important was the man placed the money *in the attic,* how it got there seems less to the point, requiring only ...

kama pona tawa toki pona! mi pana e toki lili lili: sina nimi ala. sina jan meli, tan ni la sina wile toki e ni 'nimi mi li nimi 'Nasakan'' anu 'mi jan Nasakan' 'sona weka' is not a kind of knowing but a kind of tossing away, so I'd go with 'weka sona' but yours is a reasonable shot. It is Esperanto...

Re: Help converting name

Oh, bad luck in names -- for this particular exercise, that is. Fully spelled out you get something like Kulutu (or Kuwutu); not too bad but not as snappy as Curt. Since clusters tend to resolve to their dominant element (which is nit usually r or l) we get down to Kutu, which is shorter but maybe a...

nimi pi kalama lili tu li pona tawa mi. mi jan Josan. nimi mi li tan nimi Jonathan. Not sure whether 'tan' is a 'tawa' class verb but it seems to be ('sina tan ma seme' in the lessons) taso nimi ni li pali mute ike tawa jan ante. 'pali mute e ike' or 'pali e ike mute' jan ale li wile toki e ni: jan...

Re: A ranged possibility: two-letter codes

Sounds like Portuguese version of the Latin alphabet would do fine. The present script is phonemic already. The Ptg may lack w or y or some other letter (I just don't remember) but it has a high tilde to go over vowels (I think all of them, but again, ...). Syllabic I take it you mean something like...

I think the point is that tp is not for scientists or specialists of any sort, but for just folks doing just folksy things.

Re: toki musi mi

As I said, 'pana' just seems wrong to me but 'tawa' certainly works. I just think 'tawa' is overused.
