Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

Not sure I have a better idea: 'sitelen lape'? "toki lape'? others? I'm for 'sitelen lape', because we can see, look at, watch our night dreams, they are pictures, not words. I don't follow these three sentences and don't remember the story well enough t make a good guess It's all right then. ...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

jan lawa soweli li lape la jan Enkitu li pale ala Again the contrast of "when. while" with "if" is lost (but is it needed?) In natural languages this explicit contrast is sometimes lost too. Neither grammar structure nor a key word determines the meaning. We recognize the meanin...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

Let's try to do it without explicit 'after'. ...ona li toki e ni: "jan pi utala soweli o kama jo e meli unpa Sanka pi tomo pi jan sewi. tenpo kama la ona li kepeken nasin meli tawa jan soweli ni. tenpo lili la soweli pi jan ni li tawa weka tan ona". meli pi tomo pi jan sewi jan pi utala so...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

I avoid ' alasa ' intentionally. It's a new word, and in my opinion it's too insignificant to include it to the official dictionary. ' jan pi utala soweli ', ' lupa ma suli ' and ' ken tawa weka ' -- you're right. is 'kama' a location verb (really a preposition) like 'tawa' or not? If so, the you do...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

The crucial issue here is whether you can have a prep phrase modifying a noun phrase, i.e., 'jan (sama(jan Kikamasi))' I looked up syntax rules in wikipedia and on the forum and haven't found any rule allowing prepositions here. Which one would you have chosen: 1. "o pali e jan wawa sin. 2a. o...

Re: soweli en kili

Hmm... abandoning 'anpa e monsi', but suggesting 'lon lawa palisa'? A wink for a wink? ;)
