Re: ala/ale/ali

Sounds interesting. Could you post a link to this interview, please?

Concerning the "lay", I think you actually need *less* of it (don't use diphtongs).

Re: ala/ale/ali

jan Baerdric o, toki! In the Official Book, "ali" is a synonym of "ale". So, you can easily use "ali" instead of "ale". I'm not sure if "ali" comes from pronouncing "ale" as "alee", in either case, "ali" is newer than &q...

Re: A question to Buddhists

How would you say - emptiness, is empty - form, has form, is formless ? Possibly other philosophers. (I know Kipo's opinions and want others to express theirs first and without suggestions.) Toki! I would try and use "lupa" as "empty", "hollow". (I try to see "hol...

Re: Use of "la" vs. putting adj./adv. after verb?

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but hope to one day be a fluent tokiponist. I'm a little confused as to the use of "la." According to this: http://rowa.giso.de/languages/toki-pona/english/toki-pona-lessons_en.pdf it "separates an adverb of context" from the sentence. I don't know wha...

Re: ...in front of me...

Struggling to figure out how to say "I have many papers in front of me." (or words to that effect). Best I have been able to do is: 1. lon mi sinpin li ni: lipu mute OR 2. lon sinpin mi li ni: lipu mute Meaning: At my front is this: many papers. Not sure if "lon" is allowed to b...

Re: toki! mi jan Natan.

toki! mi jan Natan. Or should that be nimi mi li Natan? pu says the latter, yet I see the former in use often. After reading http://www.suburbandestiny.com/?p=799 , I believe my aim will be to use toki pona as the original, simple, way of communication set out in pu. (If I want to speak, write or t...

Re: toki. mi jan Loteni

Hi, I am learning toki pona :) I am really loving the language, I got the official book and read it 100s of times, and really meditated on it, and have begun to understand some of it :D. But I am finding it hard to find online resources and pointers to help with this. Maybe there are people here wh...
