Re: "nostalgic longing for my childhood walks in the woods with my dog Shadow"

jan Loje o,

I'd try this:

mi tawa lon nasin.
ona li lon anpa pi lipu kasi sin.

With a little liberty: lipu kasi sin li lon supa ona.
("fresh leaves are on it's 'bed'.")

or: lipu kasi sin li len ona. / len ona li lipu kasi sin.
("fresh leaves are its cloths.")

mi tawa.

Re: Full and Empty

jan Natan o,

I perceive "lupa" as "empty" (and "hollow"), too. "full" would be "lupa ala" then. "jo e ala" might work, too.

"pona"

Re: Fluency

toki, To me, "toki telo" sounds like "liquid language", because "telo" is "fluid", not "flowing". Therefore, "tawa" should be used. But "toki tawa" sounds like "moving language" but communication should always be directe...

Re: jan Ari Pota en kiwen pi jan sona

jan Chowlett o, In case you mean something to cover the ears, "len pi nena kute" or "len kute" should be enough. Many "lens" have the purpose of keeping body parts "seli" without the need to say "seli". If you want to express "noble" as som...

Re: Questions

Hi Natan, I don't know of any examples of questions of the form "ona li seli?", except for some mistakes I do from time to time. Even though the Official Book doesn't contain these examples, I would understand (and possibily use) them in a dialog like this: - tawa mi la ona li seli. (I thi...

Re: jan Ari Pota en kiwen pi jan sona

Hi jan Chowlett, I just saw some interesting things here: I saw "too" somewhere expressed as "pi mute ike", which I liked. "to change" in the sense of "to become different" should be "kama ante", whereas "ante" is simply "(to be) diffe...

Re: ala/ale/ali

Thanks for the link. Interesting! :)

The japanese vowels should work perfectly... (I studies some Japanese myself.)

Re: ala/ale/ali

Sounds interesting. Could you post a link to this interview, please?

Concerning the "lay", I think you actually need *less* of it (don't use diphtongs).

Regards,
jan Tepan

Re: ala/ale/ali

jan Baerdric o, toki! In the Official Book, "ali" is a synonym of "ale". So, you can easily use "ali" instead of "ale". I'm not sure if "ali" comes from pronouncing "ale" as "alee", in either case, "ali" is newer than &q...

Re: A question to Buddhists

How would you say - emptiness, is empty - form, has form, is formless ? Possibly other philosophers. (I know Kipo's opinions and want others to express theirs first and without suggestions.) Toki! I would try and use "lupa" as "empty", "hollow". (I try to see "hol...
