Re: Dittolexy

My point (not in this case exactly) is that this rule is a) out of date and hasn't been used for at least 6 years b) wasn't actually adhered to before.
The Toki Pona book of Sonja released 2014 and not 6 years ago.
I took your opinion note.

Thanks

Re: I'm updating my Toki Pona lessons an I'm looking for good text examples

jan Kipo o, toki! Many thanks for your comments. But can you write what you mean a littel more clearly? For example: The English to tp section is as useless as usual – the next project, perhaps. This sentences is useles because you didn't write why. Can you write in this way? On the page ... is this...

Re: Describing Toki Pona with the computer language Prolog and DCG

jan Kipo o, toki! Many thanks for you comments. There is no reasonable rule for the mere number of adjectives or adverbs; it is the repetition that is at issue. Now in my lessons I advise only up to three adjectives or adverbs per noun without repetition of the same word. I refer to "kin"....

Re: I'm updating my Toki Pona lessons an I'm looking for good text examples

Jan Kipo o, toki! Thanks for you notes. Several years ago I translated jan Pije's lessons to German an put the English and German version in a layout with latex. My aim was to learn Toki Pona. For me jan Pije's lessons were the best lessons in this time. Later I had no time for Toki Pona. Now I have...

Re: I'm updating my Toki Pona lessons an I'm looking for good text examples

'sitelen' 'sitelen tawa … li kin pona' makes no sense, what would stressing 'li' do? I assume the 'kin' goes just before the 'li', at the end of the NP. " ... li kin ... " is possible. Remember Toki Pona has no word for "be". "kin" as an adverb can stress the hidden &q...

Re: I'm updating my Toki Pona lessons an I'm looking for good text examples

The problem with describing the "official" tp is that there is no such thing. There is no tp organization, so no certification and the like. But there are several Toki Pona lessons. I try to consider these. We have (at least) Pije, which is a rather conservative language, ignoring several...

Re: Describing Toki Pona with the computer language Prolog and DCG

I still find it hard to imagine a rule that maximizes the number of modifiers, though there are stylistic reasons to keep the number small. Still, jan lili li wile e tomo tawa seli loje suno suli "The child wanted a big shiny red fire truck" seems perfectly reasonable. Your sentence is ri...

Re: meli li jo e lipu (The Girl with the Book)

jan Pusa o, toki. You forgot the punctuation mark. Maybe this is what you mean? sina wan taso lon tomo. sina jo e lipu lon luka sina. suno li lon linja sina. sina lukin pona. taso sina lukin pona mute tan ni. mi wile kama sona e sina li wile pilin e luka sina ali la mi wile e ni: mi lon poka sina. m...

jan AetherStar o, toki!

mi pilin e ni: pilin sina li pona. tenpo mute la "mi" li "mi mute".

BTW: The commas are confusing.
