Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

I had a hard day. I should have read the text twice after typing in from the paper. Sorry. ona li lon ma pi moku telo li awen.["were in the country of wet food"? "paddy?" "were in the country where they drank "springs?"] in a place of drinking water; they were wait...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

jan lawa soweli li lape la jan Enkitu li pale ala Again the contrast of "when. while" with "if" is lost (but is it needed?) In natural languages this explicit contrast is sometimes lost too. Neither grammar structure nor a key word determines the meaning. We recognize the meanin...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

Not sure I have a better idea: 'sitelen lape'? "toki lape'? others? I'm for 'sitelen lape', because we can see, look at, watch our night dreams, they are pictures, not words. I don't follow these three sentences and don't remember the story well enough t make a good guess It's all right then. ...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

If it's all right I would prefer just "lukin lape" for "seeing a dream, dreaming". Please don't hesitate to point out in the text where it can't be used. I think it is alright and seems to me the best of the lot "sleep sights" So    jan Kikamesi li lukin e lukin lape. ...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

So    jan Kikamesi li lukin e lukin lape. ? Or maybe just:    jan Kikamesi li lukin e lape. ? jan G li lape li lukin e ni:... But there is no "e ni:..." in the first sentence -- "Gilgamesh had a dream. He woke up and went to his mother." Then he said: "mama o! tenpo pimeja ...

Re: Halloween

tenpo kama lili la ona li lon tenpo pimeja Alowen. I think "ona" is not good here. There hasn't been any "he/she/it" mentioned before, to point at. Shouldn't it be something like: 'tenpo kama lili la tenpo pimeja Alowen li lon.' ? (if 'lon' can be used for periods of time.) jan ...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

jan Sanka o, mi wile jan ni li tawa weka. No can do, cant have a subordinate clause in tp. Right. jan mije li tawa Probably 'kama' is better. This just means "A man is moving" A man has been walking. It's not he was approaching Enkidu, just walking around nearby. In a way annoing to Enkid...

Re: jan Kikamesi. jan lawa pi ma tomo Uluku

as much as i understand tp philosophy, you must specify something he saw in the dream. Why do you think it must be specified? One can say 'I had a dream' or 'I saw images during my sleep' without specifying what was this dream about. And it's all right. I can't see anything against logics or tp phi...
