Re: Duolingo Proposal
This is one of those things where I'm interested in principle, but I don't know if I will be able to contribute very much due to time constraints. However, I would be happy to sign up, and do what I can if and when it gets off the ground.

Re: Question about Qestions
Certainly I wouldn't go with the first option. One could argue in favor of the second, I think, but personally I would use the last option, "sina kama ala kama sona e toki pona." If you're unsure, an alternative approach is to just use "anu seme?", like in: "sina kama sona e...

Re: Question about Qestions
No real reason, I think. If you want to just use that form, feel free to do so. I guess in some cases, "anu seme" is less specific, as you might not be entirely clear what aspect of the sentence you're asking the question about. For example, "sina wile ala wile toki?" = do you wa...

Re: Question about Qestions
The same way, I would think. I might respond as "pona ala" rather than "ala pona" if it was the negative response, though. In fact, I might do that with the "X ala X" type questions as well, although I have wondered about that before.

Re: Question about Qestions
Thanks for pointing out the simple "ala" response, janKipo; I forgot about that. As for that last bit you mentioned, I was wondering about that as well. I think it should be allowed, as it's quite an elegant and simple way to ask such questions, making it immediately clear which aspect of ...

toki! kama pona e toki pona. I think the subject is correct, but you can more easily just say "mi open kama sona e toki pona". mi jan Pinsen, li lon ma Netelan. tenpo ni la, mi toki kepeken toki pona pi mute ala tan ni: mi kama sona e toki Epelanto. taso, toki pona li pona tawa mi kin. I a...

Re: tenpo pini lili la mi open e ni: mi kama sona e toki pona
Ah, right, I remember now, about prepositional phrases after the direct object. I actually started out doing that, finding it a very pleasant construction (kind of remembering the 'ni' that introduces another phrase/proposition during an intervening phrase), but I guess that's something I forgot. Th...

I don't think OP mentioned Esperanto; I was just saying, or, well, trying to say, how I evangelized tp to my mother, who liked it but thought it was very difficult, and she thought Esperanto was easy. (In other words, I was using another sense of "pona". See my included English translation...

Re: Describing Toki Pona with the computer language Prolog and DCG
I think jan Kipo is correct. That said, I do wonder about the interpretation of the sentence "sina wile ala mute moku?" even if a question like that is allowed. Since there's no "pi" between "wile" and "ala mute", "ala" and "mute" would app...
