Re: Whistled Toki Pona

Silbo gomero isn't a practical code even for spanish. It has a niche application (long-distance simple communication over empty expanses of mountain ranges). Out of that that it's just a curiosity.

Re: Musical system - toki pi kalama musi or tkpm

The explanation is too technic, but the practice is potentially intuitive once learned. Nevertheless, it is absolutely impractical. It is more of a game than a serious proposal.

Well, while new words for a full set of digits are sanctioned by the community, we can still use the tools we already have.

I don't understand your question.

Re: la phrases

Maybe we should understand languages are living things. Toki pona is changing and it has different branches. That is great! That means it is alive and people is using it. As long as we can understand each other it is fine. American english and british english are different from each other. They are ...

Re: Left and Right

I like the open / pini approach. For the north/south problem, North has bears and south has penguins. Ma soweli / ma waso could work. After all, "artic" means, literally, "land of bears" from its greek root. Other option is considering north as the magnetic pole, the way compasse...

Re: Musical system - toki pi kalama musi or tkpm

I think a musical language should be able to be singed. That leaves chords out of the question. Also weird intervals. Some brainstorming. We have: 9 consonants 5/4 vowels Musical elements easy to sing: -We leave out absolute pitches. -Note length: short/long -Note articulation: legato/stacatto -Pitc...

Re: tan e nanpa pi toki pona

I think the easiest way of expressing complex numbers is directly translating a decimal positional system that everyone already knows. We can express numbers 0 to 9 already: wan, tu, tu-wan, tu-tu, luka, luka-wan, luka-tu, luka-tu-wan, luka-tu-tu. Just spell the numbers in their respective positions...

Re: Whistled Toki Pona

Silbo gomero and a video about it. Silbo is basically a way of whistling spanish, not technically a language. It could be used to "pronounce" in any other language, but as spanish has simpler phonemes, it is specially intelligible when whistling. Good news are, toki pona has phonetics ver...
