Re: Logical rules and inferences

Sorry that this no longer has anything to do with Toki Pona, but...

I used Understanding Symbolic Logic (5th Edition) by Virginia Klenk. Do you have any recommendations for better books?

Really? I trust you since you did this for a living, but I'm surprised because it's what is presented in my symbolic logic textbook.

Logical rules and inferences

I have been thinking about how to translate rules and inferences in symbolic logic into toki pona. Here are a few of my ideas. Criticisms and corrections are welcome. There are many things that I left out (biconditionals, for example) because I couldn't come up with a good way to express them. Rules...

Re: Simplicity Quotes

(why do we need a subject? It's like having to say "it" in "it snows" in English?) This is an interesting point, especially since Toki Pona is very structurally similar to pidgins, and most pidgins are pro-drop (i.e. snows instead of it snows ). I would imagine that since Toki P...

nimi "wall" lon toki pona li seme?

What would be a good way to say "wall/barrier/fence" in toki pona? I have been thinking about this for a while and haven't been able to come up with anything except for "ilo pi open ala" which doesn't seem like the best solution. Am I overlooking some very basic word that I've fo...

Re: A range of possibilities

(Esperanta traduko sekvas.) I like the idea of using Japanese kanji for most of the vocabulary, hiragana for the particles, and katakana for the loan adjectives. The kana are already perfectly usable for toki pona, although toki pona [l] would have to be represented by what in Japanese would be pro...
