Re: Who of us is really a toki pona master?

hmm, "classic version of tp", that implies we have moved on from that. That is not true, the classic version is more equatable to the common dialect. However since it is common usage still, "classic" isn't really the right word. Pu is the actual TP, Sonja who published TP first i...

Re: ali mute li lon anu seme?

Reading pu, is not like reading a newspaper. I am not saying that is "all" them phrases can mean, I am saying context free, most probably that is what they will mean *1. This applies no matter if you like it or not. Of course you are free to continue to ignore the official Toki Pona, if yo...

Re: The Official Toki Pona Dictionary

jan pona120: "night *sky* object" -- which is the actual wording, not the mess of "night objects" that kipo misquotes and claims is unfortunate, but yeah its unfortunate that some people can misread so easily. "night sky object", is very good wording, that would not onl...

Re: Who of us is really a toki pona master?

Just finding two people with mastery of the official dialect of TP, will be the first major hurdle. Wow! I was sure that "jan pu en jan pu li pona" (kulupu pi jan pu li pona) kulupu pu li pona... :D I think, tp and a rat race are different things. In my understanding, each of &quo...

jan Lope :

I suppose most beginners soon realise the "corrections" offered are themselves incorrect, and after a while of trying to help, just give up, ignore, and continue on learning the much richer form of the language as it is intended to be used.

Re: ali mute li lon anu seme?

It is worth noting that contrary to popular belief; ken la is not some idiom for "maybe", it can mean many different things... often it just setups up a probability measure, so; ken la == general notion, any probability between 0 and 1, but not 0. ken ala la == is not the case, impossible,...

Just finding two people with mastery of the official dialect of TP, will be the first major hurdle. Of course if you are testing for different dialects you should make that clear.

Someone that has mastery of the most in use dialect, is barely at beginner level in the official dialect.

Re: The Official Toki Pona Dictionary

that is the full list. I suppose that is so we can say things like ; mun nasa - for UFO, and so it includes satelites, planets and galaxies... I'm sure Sonja had a very good reason for placing that in there ;)

Re: sewi li lon anu seme ?

But that is exactly what happened... It is kind of thing you would expect from someone with no training in the subjects. They often fall into fallacy of self authority as well. Well you know what they say on the internet, I can't remember the phrase now. It is something like everyone is a physicist ...
