Re: toki pona translations for a novel!

Well, I’m an editor, so I correct and comment on what is offered, but am not much good at doing original work -- even translations. But feed me attempts and aI will correct an explain as much as you can stand (and then a bit). I have a delusion, left over from a successful couple of years of German ...

Re: pona!

Well, Lope’s toki pona is very conservative; he does not acknowledge many changes which the community has adopted (most of the spamming he mentions consisted of pointing this out, though I may have said a few things not apprporate for addressing my elders). So, some of his suggestions would be hard ...

Re: Pakala -> Paka ala

We seem to be playing a different game here than etymology, though I am not sure what it is exactly, nor whether it is ultimately interesting. Note that Finnish “parantaa” would not give ‘paka(la)’ but ‘palanta’.

Re: Pakala -> Paka ala

Well, I haven’t read up on Lope’s versions of all this in a while, but I suspect they are not quite the same as the communities generally. I would have doctor, etc. ‘jan pi pona sijelo. (person who fixes bodies). A good doctor is probably best as ‘jan pona pi pona sijelo’, though ‘jan pi pona sijelo...

Re: Non-imperative sentences without overt subjects

I suppose it is a matter of words and deeds, more than just words. tpt is hostile in the sense that they have explicitly banned me from participating in their conversations. This is fairly unambiguous. They banned me -- as far as I can figure out -- because I pointed to errors in their (in particula...
