Re: Writing Toki Pona in the Hebrew alphabet

Diacritcs are ugly little buggers, and not like there aren't enough free letters to use guys. Here's a version liberally inspired by yiddish. I'm merging o and u because, as I recall, that won't cause any ambiguity anyway. a א i י e ע o/u ו p פ, or just כ for simplicity. t ת k ק m מ n נ -n ן l ר s ...

Why 'mun'? Wouldn't 'suno' make more sense considering our sun is a star? I'm just curious.

Re: About date, days of week, and counting

I personally use a system somebody else came up with derived from Esperanto numbers

1 wan
2 tu
3 sili (tri)
4 kuala (kvar)
5 kuin (kvin)
6 sese (ses)
7 sepe (sep)
8 oku (ok)
9 nawo (naŭ - pronounced like 'now')
10 teke (dek)
11 teke wan
12 teke tu
20 tu teke (dudek)

Re: Toki Pona and ISO 639

I might be alone in feeling this way, but I'm not surprised. Toki pona would have much less appeal than other languages because it wouldn't be considered usable/useful to nearly as many people, so it's honestly easy for me to understand why an application wouldn't be accepted. I'm not sure why it wo...

Re: Writing Toki Pona in the Hebrew alphabet

only 2 questions: (yes I know this is an old post) would vowels (niqqud) always be used? They are more time consuming to type & of course Hebrew rarely uses them anyway. would א or ה be used to ending words with a final vowel? ה is used in Hebrew in place of a final vowel that is not indicated a...

Re: Proposed revision to Chinese character set

Hey everyone! I don't know much Toki Pona, but as I was looking through http://tokipona.net/tp/classicwordlist.aspx , I'd like to suggest an alternative character set that more closely matches the meaning of the characters in modern Mandarin Chinese. ante: 变 (change) → 异 (different, differ) e: 把→着....

Re: Looking for Swadesh list for toki pona

Here is a draft Swadesh list. I was surprised how much gutter talk there was on the Swadesh list. Some words are rated R. Many words take a phrase or entire sentence to build up and after you built it, you won't find a place to plug it on account of not having subordinate clauses. Generating multi-...

Re: toki pona text language?

http://tokipona.net/tp/Compress.aspx is a tool for compressing toki pona words to 2 letters.
a sentence like 'sina ken ala ken sona e ni?' would be sakeaakeso~ni? (sa/ke/aa/ke/so/~/ni). It also shows the hanzi & kanji characters, & can decompress too.

Re: 言好!Toki pona written with Han characters.

http://tokipona.net/tp/Compress.aspx is a tool to compress toki pona using different systems including hanzi and kanji. 家 is used for tomo in the sitelen Nijon (Japanese) system, & 穴 is used for sitelen Sonko (Chinese). according to their meanings either 室 or 家 would be appropriate for tomo. I p...
