Re: Implied Verb Prepositions
Most of those variants make sense to me. There are two that I don't understand. - intransitive verb "tawa" + an indirect object with the noun "tomo" I see that your site says a similar thing but translates all the examples with a preposition. Which would mean mi tawa is translate...

Re: Implied Verb Prepositions
if the tawa in mi tawa tomo is an intransitive verb, doesn't that make tomo an adverb? so something like 'I go in a house like way'. I thought all the words could be any part of speech that made sense. So what decides that words can't be a part of speech? I'm curious since I think we've been using s...

Implied Verb Prepositions
I was trying to think about how to say 'about' the other day and it spurred a few questions. I've seen 'e' used as 'about' mi toki e moku : I talk about food. This seems weird to me since moku isn't a direct object. Which made me think toki as a preposition might mean 'talk about' in the same way ta...

Re: Wan - 'Alone'?
Couldn't you also say mi weka : I am away/removed? Not sure if it's right, but I've seen it a few times now.

Re: Comparisons
Using mute/lili as more/less than makes sense to me. It seems in the spirit of being able to use the tp vocabulary in any context that makes sense, and would be similar to other languages. According to a friend at work that speaks Indonesian, a lot of the grammar is similar to tp. And using mute/lil...

Adverbs, Auxiliary Verbs, Verbs
Although it looks like some words are auxiliary more often (wile/kama for example), could any word be auxiliary or an adverb? I've mostly been following the vocab list to see if a word can be a verb/modifier/noun but I've noticed many words being used in other ways the vocab list says aren't allowed...

Re: Quick questions
Based on what y'all have said about wawa, it sounds like one the my examples, mi wile wawa e ilo. would only ever mean 'I want to energize/power-up the the tool'? or something like 'I want (in a way that shows power/dominance) the tool', which seems like it wouldn't be used very often. I had read wa...

Re: Quick questions
pona :) sina sitelen tawa mi kepeken tenpo lili. I've found there always seems to be a simpler or safer way to say ambiguous things and I love all the weird ways your brain has to think about the words. 'Using little time' and 'moku wawa' as 'eating to show strength' might be some of my new favorites.

Re: ala
My toki pona knowledge is pretty limited (only a few months of off and on learning) so I'm asking out of curiosity (not saying it should be a certain way, and maybe I'm misunderstand your comments). I read that yes/no questions like the one you mention, 'jan ali li kama ala kama?', are responded to ...
